Kitchen Choreography
Kitchen Choreography is a registration from the kitchen staff at work in the kitchen of one of the most popular bistro-restaurants in Reykjavik. It is recorded in the evening around dinner time, when the restaurant is full, following the action and activity of the kitchen staff from within. The editing follows the action and the concrete improvised choreography of the kitchen. The staff, all foreigners, all immigrated to Iceland in the last 6 years. They are from Honduras, Spain, Philippines, Poland, Serbia and the USA. The staff communicates with each other concentrated in the flow of what they’re doing, the cooking, through their body language and “kitchen language”, at the same time as they talk in 3 different languages to each other, Spanish, English and Icelandic.
